A Sustainable Economic Recycle Quantity Model for Imperfect Production System with Shortages

Recycling of products has a great impact on contemporary sustainable business strategies. In this study, recycling process in production-inventory model for an imperfect production system with fixed ratio recyclable defective is introduced. The piecewise constant demand rates the non-defective items are considered under run-time, off-time positive stock, and shortages varying conditions. Based process, two cases studied using model. first case does not consider processes, while second picks up all before sending these to during off-time; recycled added main inventory. aim study minimize total cost identify optimal order quantity. manufacturing provides better result compared without case. Some theoretical derivations developed enunciate objective function classical optimization technique. To validate proposed sensitivity analysis performed, numerical examples given. Finally, some managerial insights scope future research provided.
